About

I work as a freelance flash designer and developer in Oslo, Norway. I have several years of experience creating content for web, among two years in Apt, a leading flash agency in Norway. I also hold a bachelor of Communication Design from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.

I have worked with some of the largest brands in the Nordic region like Norsk Tipping, Toyota, Nordea, Volkswagen, Bik Bok, Tine, Nidar and so on.

When dealing with flash site content, I work in Flex using model-view-controller as an architectural pattern. Successful use of the pattern isolates business logic from user interface considerations, resulting in an application where it is easier to modify either the visual appearance of the application or the underlying business rules without affecting the other.

When we talk about flash banner campaigns, the rules of engagement is a bit different. Most media in Norway are using a back end system that does not support flash 9, and we have to use AS2 for developing such content. Of course, many banners are without logic and data built in, so we don't even have to use code, just pure time line animation. Another element to think about is the size. In Norway the limit is often 40 kb, and you need to know how to take advantage of every byte. And over the years you learn a trick or two on how to maintain quality without having the file size going through the roof. If you plan more powerful banner campaign, we can feed in the content via a 3rd party server.

I am marketing myself as a flash and actionscript developer, but we all know; flash is not always the best solution. I do enjoy HTML and CSS just as much as actionscript code.
